Annual Accounts

Whether you are a sole trader or a Ltd company's director, submission of the annual accounts is a legal responsibiltiy you have to fulfill once a year. In case of a Sole trader, the annual accounts are a part of their individual tax return, whereas in the case of Ltd company, the annual accounts are filed to the companies house and a seperate tax return is submitted to HMRC, called CT600. 

It is the director's legal responsibiltiy to submit the annual account. Failure to do so will result in penalties imposed by the companies house and HMRC or your company being struck off the register. 

For sole traders, the deadline to submit the annual accounts/tax return is 31 October for paper filing and 31 January for electronic filing.
